JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is set to add 40 power plants units in Kalimantan with total capacity of 2852 megawatts (MW) which costs US$4 billion.

PLN will invite partners to involve in the project under the public private partnership scheme. PLN will control 25 power plants project.

The electricity infrastructure in Kalimantan is hoped to boost the ratio of electricity consumption per capita in Indonesia from current 0.8, second lowest after Pakistan.
