JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Police’s Criminal Investigation Division (Barekrim Polri) has examined Andi Idris Syukur, a graft suspect and Regent of Barru (South Sulawesi), related to further investigation into extortion case of some businessmen.

The Police, according to Bareskrim Polri’s Director for economy crimes Brig. Gen. Victor Edison Simajuntak, has examined Idris Syukur for four hours on Thursday (Aug. 6).

The police, however, has not yet detained the regent after the examination session.

The police earlier named Andi Idris Syukur as a graft suspect since July 9, 2015. The Police charged Idris with Article 12 letter e of the Anti-Corruption Law No. 20/2001 and also the Anti-Money Laundering Law No. 25/2003.

Andi Idris Syukur is also known as Chairman of Golkar Party for Barru branch. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
