JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed on Monday (August 3) that July inflation was 0.93%, compared to 0.54% in June 2015.

Off 82 cities, 80 cities recorded inflation, highest occurred in Pangkalpinang (3.18%) and the lowest occurred in Pemantangsiantar (0.06%. Meanwhile 2 cities recorded deflation, Tanjung Pandan (0.48%) and Merauke (0.65%).

The inflation in July 2015 was contributed by staple food (2.02%), processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.51%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (0.13%), clothing (0.39%), health (0.36%), education, recreation, and sport (0.34%), and transportation, communication, finance services (1.74%).

Year to date inflation was 1.90% while year on year inflation was 7.26%.
