JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended lower 0.15% at 5219 Monday (September 22), but closed off its lows. The index moved at range of 5208-5228.

Asian shares also skidded on Monday as investors awaited data this week that could provide more evidence of a slowdown in China.

Alam Sutera fell 1.03%, Bumi Resources lost 1.54%, Vale Indonesia shed 1.37%, London Sumatra slashed 1.58%, and Telkom dropped 2.55%.

Other losers were Waskita Karya (-1.1%), Global Mediacom (-2.26%), and Pakuwon Jati (-2.54%).

Among gainers were Bank Central Asia (+1.59%), Bank Mandiri (+1.19%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (+2.1%), Media Nusantara Citra (+1.58%), and Visi Media (+5.63%).

Nymex’s crude oil declined 0.4% to US$92.04 per barrel while gold rose 0.55% to US$1,226.50 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp11,972 against the US dollar.
