JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, Jakarta Governor and presidential hofepul from PDI-P, has met the Commander of the Indonesian Military (TNI) General Moeldoko on Thursday (April 3), triggering speculation on possibility pairing for July’s presidential election, Detik.com reported.

Jokowi reportedly met Moeldoko at the Indonesian Military’s headquarter at Cilangkap in East Jakarta, this morning.

The meeting was reportedly closed to the press. And the press got no explanation about the issues discussed by Jokowi and Moeldoko.

As reported earlier, Moeldoko is one among names tipped as possible running mates for Jokowi. PDI-P’s executive Maruarar Sirait repeatedly confirmed the rumor. Other names are Jusuf Kalla, Abraham Samad, Ryamirzard Ryacudu, Mahfud MD, Hatta Rajasa, and Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

Nevertheless, Megawati Soekarnoputri, in his capacity as PDI-P Chairwoman and patron chief, has not yet decided who will become Jokowi’s running mate. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
