JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The  pressures on the capital city administration and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to reveal alleged graft practices related to the poor condition of newly purchased Transjakarta and feeder (BKTB) buses continues.

The city inspectorate’s investigating team, in its findings, found irregularities in the procurement of Transjakarta and feeder buses, including in the bidding process. According to the findings, PT San Abadi, which imported the newly Transjakarta and feeder buses from China, was only a subcontractor of PT Saptaguna, a company won the tender of the buses procurement project.

The city inspectorate’s findings had reportedly been delivered to Jokohok, acronym for Jokowi (the Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo) and Ahok (Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama).

Jokowi himself has confirmed that he had received a report from the inspectorate. Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama, meanwhile, added that the report has been given to the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) for further investigation. Ahok said he hoped BPK will submit their audit to the KPK, the Police, and the Attorney General Office (AGO).

As reported earlier, alleged graft practices related to the poor condition of newly purchased Transjakarta and feeder buses came to surface for the first time by reports from media outlets. The media previously published some photos depicting the serious damages found on the newly buses.

In a further progress, a local Non-Government Organization called itself as the Jakarta Residents Forum (Fakta), reported the alleged irregularities in the buses procurement to the KPK on February 24, 2014. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
