JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed that February 2014 inflation was 0.26%, compared to 1.07% in January 2013. Year-on-year inflation was 7.75%. Year to date infation reached 1.33%.
Stapple foods contributed inflation of 0.36% while processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco contributed 0.43% inflation. Housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel contributed 0.17%.
Clothing contributed inflation of 0.57%, health contributed 0.28%, education, recreation, and sport contributed 0.17%, and transportation, communication, financial services were responsible for 0.15% inflation.
Off 82 cities, 55 cities recorded inflation, highest occurred at Pontianak, and 27 cities recorded deflation, highest at Sibolga.
