JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized about 40 cars and one Harley Davidson’s motorcycle belonging or linked to Tubagus Chaeri Wardana aka Wawan, a suspect of money laundering case, Golkar Party politician and brother of Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah.
KPK Spokesperson Johan Budi Sapto Prabowo revealed that the amount of seized cars would increase as KPK continues investigating the case. This amount of seized cars from Wawan is a record of KPK investigation on the cases.
According to Johan, previously KPK seized about 31 vehicles during its investigation into bribery case related to Akil Mochtar, the disgraced and dismissed Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court.
As reported earlier, the vehicles were seized from young female celebrities and lawmakers, as well as Wawan’s private residence.
KPK is now trying to track other assets of Wawan such as lands and houses.
Wawan, husband of South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, had been named as suspect in a money laundering case.
Wawan and his sister, Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah, were also named as suspects in a bribery case related to the handling of post-election dispute in Lebak regency, Banten. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
