JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – More details of the flow of illicit money from Tubagus Chaeri Wardana aka Wawan, a suspect of money laundering case, to lawmakers and celebrities emerge.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized three more cars and the Anti-Money Laundering Agency PPATK revealed Wawan’s suspicious transactions, including to some actresses.
On Tuesday (Feb. 11), KPK Deputy Chief Bambang Widjojanto confirmed KPK has seized three luxurious cars from two lawmakers. Bambang, however, was reluctant to reveal the names of the two lawmakers.
Media, meanwhile, reported that three luxurious cars seized by KPK from two lawmakers are Toyota Vellfire, Mercedes Benz, and Honda CRV brands.
The report said both Toyota Vellfire and Mercedes Benz cars were seized from Gunawan, a Golkar Party’s lawmaker at the Banten Legislative Council (DPRD). While the Honda CRV car was seized from Media Warman, a President SBY’s Democratic Party lawmaker at the DPRD Banten.
Previously, KPK had seized 17 luxurious cars and one motorcycle belonging to Wawan during the raids conducted in six different places in January 2014.
Wawan, husband of South Tangerang Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, had been named as suspect in a money laundering case. Besides that, Wawan along with his sister, Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah, were also named as suspects in a bribery case related to the handling of post-election dispute in Lebak regency, Banten.
