JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Airin Rachmi Diany, the Mayor of South Tangerang, answered the call from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for being questioned Tuesday (Feb. 11) related to the investigation into a graft scandal of medical equipment procurement project in Banten province.
Mayor Airin reportedly has been for the first time qustioned by KPK’s investigators since around 10:00 am of Jakarta time.
KPK’s public relations head Priharsa Nugraha explained that KPK has questioned Airin as witness for Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah, Airin’s sister-in-law and one of suspects in the case.
As reported earlier, KPK had named two suspects in this case. Besides Atut, another suspect is Tubagus Chairy Wardhana aka Wawan, Atut’s younger brother and Airin’s husband.
Previously, the Supreme Audit Board (BPK) found suspicious indications in the Rp30 billion medical equipment procurement in Banten province. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
