JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Democratic Party launched a protest against media reports on various graft scandals which only aim to cornering and discriminating the party and its party chairman, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
The protest was delivered in a press conference on Friday (Dec. 6) at the House of Representatives (DPR) building in Senayan, Central Jakarta. Speaking to the press were Nurhayati Ali Assegaf, Head of Democratic Party faction at the DPR, and Teuku Riefky Harsha, Secretary of Democratic Party faction at the DPR. They demand the press to develop a fair reports.
“There is no connection between (the scandals of) Hambalang, Bank Century, and SKK Migas with President SBY. Do not deceive the people..Provide a fair report,” Nurhayati said, as quoted by Kompas.com.
Nurhayati also denied media reports on the so-called Bu Pur or Bu Purnomo who is reported to have served as the Head of ‘Cikeas Household’. Nurhayati, however, admitted that Bu Purnomo was a classmate of President SBY.
As reported earlier, the name of Bu Pur has re-appeared after Mindo Rosalina Manulang, former staff of Muhammad Nazaruddin (former Treasurer of Democratic Party), testified to the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday. Rosa revealed that Bu Pur, the nickname of Sylvia Sholeha, took a part in the controversial Hambalang project. According to Rosa, Bu Pur is the Head of Cikeas Household.
Furthermore, previous speculation circulated in the media pointed to Sylvia Sholehah as the mysterious Bunda Putri, who allegedly has important role in various government projects due to her relations with President SBY, First Lady Ani Yudhoyono and their inner circle.
President SBY, however, have repeatedly denied all rumors and allegations against him. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
