JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (AUTO), subsidiary of giant automotive player Astra Internatinal (ASII) and Pirelli Type S.p.A, through their joint venture company PT Evaluzione Tyres (Evoty), is now building a tyre factory for motorcycle with investment cost of Rp1.3 trillion.
Robby Sani, AUTO’s director, said Direktur Astra Otoparts, AUTO holds 40% shares of Evoty while Pirelli controls 60%,
Ground breaking of factory had been launched while production is expected for end of 2014. Some 40% of products will serve domestic demand.
The factory will produce 2 million units of tyres per year in first phase and would produce up to 7 million units per year when the factory operates at its full capacity.
