JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – The Export of textile and its products is expected to decline 5% this year to US$12.58 billion, compared to US$13.25 billion last year, Bisnis Indonesia reported this morning.

Ade Sudrajat, chairman of Indonesia Textile Association (API), said the association had since early this year targeted textile export to grow 5%.

But, he said, the association had revised down the target along with the unrecovered export market situation which eroded marketing products.

Based on API data, Indonesia’s textile export fell 6.1% to US$6.38 billion in the first half of 2012, compared to US$6.76 billion in the same period of last year. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
