JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) down 0.73% to close at 4,075.35 on Wednesday (Sept. 5). Regional markets also closed in red.
Investors opted to sell stocks, while some took a wait and see stance, ahead of the meeting of European Central Bank (ECB) scheduled for tomorrow (Sept. 6). They are awaiting prospect of debt crisis handling in Europe.
KOSPI lost 1.74%, Nikkei dropped 1.09%, Hang Seng fell 1.47%, KLSE down 0.79% and All Ordinaries lost 0.64%.
In Jakarta bourse, investors’ focus of selling were agricultural , mining and construction stocks. They traded 3.657 billion shares valuing of Rp3.22 trillion. Decliners led gainers 158 to 71, with 91 stocks unchanged. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
