JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has on Friday (June 14) detained Rusli Zainal, governor of Riau. With smile on his face, like other corruption suspects, Rusli came out from KPK building and taken to the detention center.
“That’s true. I’m detained for investigation purpose,” said the smiling Rusli calmly at KPK building as if he was walking on red carpet of Cannes Film Festival.
He is charged in multiple cases, including illegal logging in Siak and Pelalawan regencies in the period of 2005-2006, plus corruption crime in the organizing of National Games in Riau last year.
Rusli is also chairman of Riau Chapter of Golkar Party.
