The index also got a boost from strong gains in regional markets, where Shanghai jumped 3.06%, while Nikkei 225 advanced 1.4%. Hang Seng also gained 0.64%, while KOSPI up 0.52%. India’s BSE Sensex also gained 0.91%.
Aneka Tambang and Vale Indonesia gained 3.62% and 5.6% respectively, while coal miners Adaro Energy and Berau Coal advanced 1.8% and 4.76%. Bumi Resources also advanced 3%, while Bukit Asam edged up 2.55%.
Mining contractor Delta Dunia Makmur soared 16.28% with over 218 million shares exchanged hands, while Garda Tujuh Buana jumped 9.62% with less than 2 million shares traded.
