JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Mas’ud, member of executive advisory board of Indonesian Muslim Workers Association (PPMI), said workers under outsourcing status at state-owned companies would go on strike late next month, Kontan.co.id reported.
In the initial stage, outsourcing workers of state-owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will kick off the strike, which would lead to shutdown of power sector in Jakarta. “We will shut down PLN in Jakarta, because our mechanics hold key position,” said Mas’ud at the office of Legal Aid Foundation (LBH) Sunday (Sept 22).
Workers, according to Mas’ud, will also shut down public services, including ports, airports, and train stations.
They demand the working committee of the House of Representatives (DPR) immediately solve the dispute outsourcing issue before end of September.
