JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has been named to be one of the nominee of 2014 Time Person of the Year’s Reader Poll.
Jokowi was nominated among 50 people, which include the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, the Pakistani activist who received Nobel Prize Malala Yousafzai, the American television personality Kim Kardashian, the leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and also the leader of Catholic Church, Pope Francis.
According to our observation by 1:00 P.M Indonesian time, President Jokowi has received 2.9% of total poll. The 2.9% poll made his position at number 7th after Laverne Cox, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender advocate, who has secured 3.5% of total votes and The Secretary State of The United State of America, John Kerry, who secured 2.6% of total votes.
The poll will be closed by 11:59 p.m on December 6th while the combined winner of TIME reader’s poll will be announced by December 8th. Meanwhile TIME’s person of the year will be announced by December 10th. So will Jokowi be the 2014 TIME’s person of the year? (oktofani@yosefardi.com)
