JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Concrete producer PT Wika Beton, subsidiary of state construction firm PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIKA), plans to build concrete plant in Mynmar in May this year which costs Rp300 billion.

The construction of plant in Myanmar will take one year and will produce 1 million tons of concrete by 2015.

Wika Beton had recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Myanmar-based United Mercury Group, to set up a joint venture company there.

Wika Beton also plans to build 2 new plants this year, located in South Lampung (Sumatra) and Cilegon (West Java).

The company allocates Rp525 billion fund for this project. Wika Beton targets to book new contracts of Rp3.5 trillion this year, a 30% rise compared to Rp2.7 trillion last year.
