JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Vice President Boediono rejected the second summon of the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Supervisory Team on Bank Century bailout scandal for questioning Wednesday (Feb 19), triggering the lawmakers to launch an ultimatum to pick up Budiono by force.
Vice President Boediono’s spokesperson Yopie Hidayat revealed Vice President would not respond the House’s call as the investigation over the Bank Century bailout scandal is the authority of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The House itself had recommended KPK to handle the case. While the House’s Supervisory Team, according to Vice President, would only supervise the investigation process conducted by KPK.
Bambang Soesatyo, lawmaker from Golkar Party and member of the House’s Supervisory Team, said the House’s Supervisory Team would ask the Police to pick up Boediono by force to explain more about the case in the next summon.
Boediono had been examined as witness for twice by KPK related to Bank Century bailout scandal. Boediono was examined in his capacity as former Governor of Bank Indonesia and former member of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK). (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
