INDRAMAYU (Indonesia Today) – Due to strike and demonstration initiated by workers of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina since October 3, 2012, 80 oil wells stopped operations resulting on no crude oil produced by Pertamina EP Field Jatibarang, Detikfinance.com reported.
Heri Aminanto, Asisten Manager for Onshore Field Jatibarang, said the company is intimidated by demonstrators to close all gas networks to oil wells.
He said that 80 oil wells produce 1,516 barrel oil per day, having lost 6,064 barrels in 4 days of strike, equivalent Rp5.18 billion loss assuming crude oil of US$95 per barrel.
Crude oil from 80 oil wells produced by Pertamina EP Field Jatibarang are delivered to main storage station for then delivered to Balongan, Balikpapan and Cilacap.
So far, Heri said, delivery to Balikpapan and Cilacap is remain normal supported by sufficient crude oil stock in Balongan. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
