JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Car distributor and dealer PT Tunas Ridean Tbk (TURI) booked revenue of Rp2.5 trillion in first quarter of 2015, declined 12% from the same period of 2014.

Its car sales fell 19% to 11,346 units during the period, from 13,937 units in the first quarter of 2014. TURI’s motorcycles sales declined 2.3% to 43,161 units for the period, from 44,199 units in previous year.

In the second quarter of this year, TURI expects better sales as Astra motor group will release new products such as Toyota’s new rush and new camry. Daihatsu will also issue new terios and new sirion. BMW will also launch its new products.

Nation-wide, car sales totaled 329,000 units. Last year, national car sales reached 1.2 million units.

While national motorcycles sales amounted 1.99 units in the first quarter of 2015. Last year, national motorcycles sales was 7.91 million units.

National car sales is expected to reach 1.2 million units this year and motorcycles sales stable at 7.8 million units.
