JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Toyota Motor Corporation, through its unit PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, builds a factory producing machines for non-international innovative multi-purpose vehicle, with investment cost of 23 billion yen, equivalent Rp2.3 trillion.
Johnny Darmawan, vice president director of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, said the factory, located in Kerawang, West Java, will have capacity of 216,000 units of machines per year.
Currently Toyota Motor operates factories in Sunter (195,000 units capacity), Kerawang with 2 factories with capacity of 110,000 and 70,000 each.
Toyota holds 35.7% market share in the country, its wholesales totaled 215,044 units in January-June period of 2013. Daihatzu and Mitsubishi take the second and third places.
