JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – PT Tiran Group plans to build 2 units of sugar mills with investment cost of Rp4 trillion in South Konawe, South Sulawesi, Investor Daily reported this morning.
Amran Sulaiman, Tiran’s director, said the company has acquired 7,000 hectares of land for sugar cane planting in South Konawe. The company also gets land concession permit for 40,000 hectares land and 20,000 hectares land from plasma farmers.
Amran said the 2 units of sugar mills are targeted to produce 200,000 tons of sugar per year and to serve demand in east Indonesia region with current consumption of around 240,000 tons.
