JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Shipping company PT Pelayaran Tempuran Emas Tbk (TMAS) plans to buy 6 new vessels until next year which costs Rp200 billion.
The shipping industry is expected to grow by 7-10% in 2015 along with positive sentiment of the new government that will accelerate development programs for maritim sector.
TMAS posted net profit of Rp101.53 billion in the first half of 2014, against Rp1.2 billion only in the same period of 2013. It generated sales revenues of Rp791.6 billion, grew by 20% from the first half of 2013.
TMAS plans to invest Rp250 billion in modernizing fleets, which have average age of more than 30 years. TMAS operates 22 vessels with capacity of 181,337 DWT.
