JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) mulls to transfer its code division multiple access (CDMA)-based telephone service Flexi to its cellular phone unit PT Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel).
This would be inline with Telkomsel’s program to develop its extended global system for mobile (e-GSM) using 850 MHz radio frequency.
Telkom is now awaiting approval from the government on this proposed plan. Currently Telkomsel contributes 60-70% revenue to Telkom.
Telkom allocates capital expenditure of US$2 billion for this year, of which 50-60% is allocated to Telkomsel.
