JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (Telkom) Tbk (TLKM) mulls to acquire 50% stak in satelite company in Hong Kong as Telkom is offered an interesting margin of the business.

The acquisition will be handled by it unit PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin). The acquisition is targeted to conclude in first half of 2015.

Telkom opts to seek bank loan for funding the acquisition, instead of raising from capital market.

TLKM also allocates US$115 million for funding the development of data center in Singapore with capacity of 20,000 m2, handled by Telin.

The data center development will start next year and is expected to commence its commercial operation by fourth quarter of 2016.

Currently, TLKM has 159 million telephony customers and 29.8 million broadbands. Its unit PT Telkomsel holds 60% of mobile operator market.

Meanwhile EBay Inc, online shipping company based in United States, plans to add its shareholding in PT Mitra Plasa to 49% from current 40%.

PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) now controls 60% of Mitra Plasa. TLKM, through its subsidiary PT Multimedia Nusantara, has set up eBay, and launched www.blanja.com. Mitra Plasa has earlier managed its online shopping website www.plasa.com.

TLKM targets its e-commerce business to contribute 10% revenue in next 2-3 years.
