DOHA (Yosefardi) – State-owned telecommunication carrier Telkom Indonesia and Alcatel-Lucent have signed agreement for the development of optical network in Kalimantan and Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The agreement also covers the greater Jakarta region, wherein Alcatel-Lucent will deploy its 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) converged WDM/OTN platform to address the growing demand for high-bandwidth data services.
The fiber-optic network will enable Telkom to provide 100 G capability, including for video, multimedia, and other data-intensive applications.
Telkom shares ended higher by 2.73% to Rp11,300 Wednesday (July 10). The stock moved in the range of Rp8,050-12,900 in the past 52 weeks.
