JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Supreme Court (MA) accepted the petition of reconsideration (PK) filed by Kwee Cahyadi Kumala aka Swie Teng and so, the court reduced the prison term of the owner of PT Sentul City (BKSL) Tbk and President Commissioner of PT Bukit Jonggol Asri (BJA) from 5 years to only 2.5 years.
The MA’s Spokesperson Suhadi confirmed said verdict to the press on Monday (May 9). The verdict itself was already taken by panel of MA’s judges on April 27, 2016. Said panel of MA’s judges were consisted of Syarifuddin as presiding judge and Andi Samsan Nganro & Syamsul Rakan Chaniago as members.
Syarifudin, as you may know, was also reduced the prison term of Angelina Sondakh, a graft convict and politician from SBY’s Democratic Party, from 12 years to 10 years.
Back in June 2015, the Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced Cahyadi Kumala to 5 years in jail after proven guilty in the forest area conversion bribery scandal in Bogor, West Java. The scandal also dragged down Bogor Regent and PPP politician Rachmat Yasin, who sentenced to 5.5 years in prison. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
