JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The State Palace has sent a signal to refuse a summon from the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) related to the allegation of campaign violation and abuse of power committed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), who is also Chairman of Democratic Party.

President SBY’s Spokesperson Julian Aldrin Pasha stated on Wednesday (April 2) that Bawaslu’s summon is irrelevant. Julian revealed that SBY has never taken the advantages of his position as a president to use state facilities for the campaign of Democratic Party.

The Bawaslu’s summon was a follow up from a report against SBY filed by the Independent Election Monitoring Committee (KIPP). KIPP accused SBY for allegedly using state facilities and state money to finance the Democratic Party’s recent campaign in Lampung.

Previously, the media outlets reported about controversy surrounding SBY’s decision to use the presidential aircraft to attend the Democratic Party’s recent campaign in Lampung on March 26, 2014. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
