JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Johan Budi SP, the Spokesperson of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, stated about possibility of the President to not supporting the plan to amend the Law No. 30/2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in case of the amendment is merely aimed at weakening the KPK.
Johan said that the President has not yet received the draft of the amendment on the KPK Law from the DPR. So therefore, Johan asked people to first wait and see the final draft of the amendment on the KPK Law. The draft itself has still discussed at the House of Representatives (DPR).
In the meantime, PKS and Democratic Party jumped ship to join Gerindra Party on rejecting the plan to amend of the KPK Law.
Previously, PKS and Democratic Party were supported the amendment of the KPK Law altogether with seven other political parties at the DPR. They are PDI-P, Golkar, PKB, Nasdem, PAN, PPP, and Hanura. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
