JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State owned PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI), provides loan of Rp481 billion to state construction firm PT Hutama Karya, used to fund the Trans Sumatera toll project, connecting Medan and Binjai.
The loan facility with tenor of 25 years and grace period of 15 years was signed on Thursday (August 13). The Medan-Binjai toll section has 16.6 km length which costs about Rp1.6 trillion.
The government of Indonesia allocates Rp3.6 trillion for Hutama Karya this year, of which Rp1.1 trillion aims to fund Medan-Binjai toll project, targeted to operate in 2017.
