JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Minister of Health Siti Fadilah Supari has today (Sep. 9) testified as witness in a trial of medical equipment procurement graft scandal held at the Jakarta Corruption Court.
Siti Fadilah testified as witness for Mulya A Hasjmy, former secretary of Ministry of Health’s directorate general for medical services and one of graft suspects in the case.
In KPK’s indictment against Mulya, Siti has been mentioned to committing violation of law altogether with Mulya, Yonke Mariantoro (commitment maker official), and Ary Gunawan (director of PT Indofarma Global Media) in the procurement of medical equipment for the handling of avian flu.
KPK had named Siti Fadilah Supari as a graft suspect since April 4, 2014. Apart from KPK’s investigation, Siti Fadilah had been also named as a graft suspect by the National Police in a medical equipment graft case since April 2012.
Siti Fadilah Supari served as Minister of Health from 2004 to 2009 under the first term of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s (SBY) administration. Siti then served as one of members of President SBY’s Advisory Council (Wantimpres) during the period of 2009-2014. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
