JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – About 14,382 residents have been evacuated as Sinabung volcano in Karo Regency, North Sumatra province erupted again Sunday (June 29).
Sinabung volcano has erupted in September last year.
The National Agency for Natural Disaster Mitigation (BNPB) reported the residents are now sheltered in 28 locations and rental houses.
Some 919 houses destroyed by the volcano have been repaired. Mt Sinabung’s crater is about 2,451 meters above the sea level.
