JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto, also a lawmaker from Golkar Party, again didn’t attend the call from the Attorney General Office (AGO) for an examination session on Wednesday (Jan. 20) related to his scandalous meetings with former CEO of Freeport Indonesia Maroed Sjamsoeddin and businessman Mohammad Reza Chalid.

Initially, the AGO wants to question Novanto in his capacity as a witness in the case. But Novanto skipped the AGO’s call, and this is the second time he refused the AGO’s call.

Responding to the Novanto’s refusal, the AGO’s chief of special crimes Arminsyah stated that the AGO will summon Novanto and also Reza Chalid for a third time next week.

Arminsyah, moreover, stated that the AGO will take a firm action should Novanto and Reza remain refusing to attend the AGO’s third call. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
