JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) revealed Wednesday (October 1) that September 2014 inflation was 0.27%, compared to 0.47% in previous month.
Of 82 cities, 64 cities recorded inflation. Highest inflation occurred in Pangkal Pinang while the lowest occured in Gorontalo. 18 cities recorded deflation, highest in Tual and lowest in Kudus and Manado.
The inflation was contributed by processed food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco (0.51%), housing, water, electricity, gas, fuel (0.77%), health (0.29%), education, recreation, and sport (1.68%).
While staple food and clothes contributed deflation of 0.17% each. Transportation, communication, financial services also contributed deflation of 0.24%.
Year to date, the inflation was 3.71% while year-on-year inflation reaches 4.53%.
