JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) has chosen Mahendra Siregar as chief of Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Detik.com reported.
MS Hidayat, minister of industry, has confirmed the decision, but minister of finance Chatib Basri declined to confirm the report. “Just wait the president’s statement,” he said.
Mahendra is currently vice minister of finance. He has been in the position since 2011. If confirmed, he will replace Chatib Basri, who is now minister of finance.
Other names previously tipped for BKPM include Dino Patti Djalal (Ambassador to USA), Karen Agustiawan (CEO of Pertamina), and Emirsyah Satar (CEO of Garuda Indonesia).
