RIYADH (Yosefardi) – Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah (90) has died due to pneumia illness, state television announced early Friday.

All channels of Saudi TV early Friday local time were broadcasting recitations of the
Qur’an.

Abdullah was named as king since 2005 but took in charge since 1995 when his brother Fahd suffered stroke illness.

US President Barrack Obama has expressed his condolences and said the closeness and strength of the partnership between US and Saudi Arabia is part of King Abdullah’s legacy.
