JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Coordinating Minister for Maritime (and Natural Resources) affairs has on Wednesday (Sep. 9) afternoon visited the private residence Megawati Soekarnoputri, chairperson of the ruling party PDI-P, at Teuku Umar in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Talking to the press after his closed meeting with the fifth President of the Republic, Rizal said that their meeting was just a nostalgia meeting between two old friends.
“I and Mbak Mega (Megawati Soekarnoputri) once worked together under Gus Dur’s (the late Abdurrahman Wahid) administration 15 years ago. So, we’d only talked about what happened in the past,” Rizal said.
Rizal, however, admitted that they have also discussed contemporer issues. But denied speculation saying that the meeting is related to recent feud between Rizal and other cabinet members, including VP Jusuf Kalla, especially on the 35,000 MW electricity project.
Rizal said Megawati advised him to continue to implement the so-called Trisakti concept of Soekarno, the first President of the Republic and Megawati’s father. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
