JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Rieke Diah Pitaloka, lawmaker and the losing governor candidate from PDI-P, has revealed about brokerage practices in the Constitutional Court when facing post-election dispute of West Java gubernatorial race.
Rieke, who lost in West Java gubernatorial race, said she was asked for Rp20 billion to win the dispute.
“I’m trying to forget about what happened in the Court.. The problem that I faced wasn’t only transactional indication in the court, but also a big conspiracy which I can not reveal at the moment,” said Rieke on Thursday (October 10).
Commenting to Rieke’s confession, other politicians and figures, including former Constitutional Court Chief Justice Mahfud MD suggested Rieke to file a report to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Police.
Rieke filed a lawsuit to the Court to challenge the results of official counting placed Ahmad Heryawan, incumbent West Java Governor and PKS politician, as the winner of the election. But on April 1, the Court rejected Rieke’s appeal to overturn Heryawan’s victory.
The public trust to the Constitutional Court, the highest judiciary court in the country, has been crashed following the arrest of the dismissed Constitutional Court Chief Justice Akil Mochtar by KPK. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
