JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Bank Indonesia released its survey that monthly retail sales index grew by 18.6% year on year (yoy), compared to 8.7% growth in previous month.
Sales of food, beverage, and tobacco grew by 25.1% yoy, compared to 7.4% yoy in June 2014. Sales of spareparts and accessories rose 11.5% yoy, compared to 4.2% decline yoy in June.
Retail sales for August 2014 is expected to decline as the public’s consumption would be normal after the Lebaran season.
Sales for next 3 months until October 2014 is expected to decline 7.9 points to 130.4.
