JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – SPAR International and retailer PT Ramayana Lestari Sentosa Tbk (RALS) today agree to build a new partnership which will see over 30 new SPAR supermarkets opened across Indonesia within the next three years.
SPAR International is the world’s largest food voluntary retail chain with over 12,000 stores worldwide and global retail sales of €32.2 billion in 2013.
Ramayana has ambitious plans to grow its food retail business and the new agreement with SPAR International will see Ramayana rebrand its existing stores to SPAR, in addition to the development of new store sites nationwide. The first SPAR store in Indonesia will be operational before the end of 2014.
Ramayana now operates 118 stores throughout Indonesia trading under the Ramayana, Robinson and Cahaya retail brand names.
The Company’s chain of department stores sell a wide range of products including food, clothes, accessories, bags, shoes, cosmetics and other daily needs. Its stores are located in Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Central Java, Sumatera, Bali, and Kalimantan.
