JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Regio Aviasi Industri (RAI), in partnership with 5 airliners, will build low cost aircraft R80, utilizes some aspects of N250 aircraft created by former president BJ Habibie.
That 5 airliners invited to support R80 aircraft project are Merpati, Citilink, Wingsair, Sky Aviation, and Kal Star.
R80 aircraft will provide 80 chairs for passengers and will cost US$500-600 million per unit, compared to Europe-made aircraft which cost above US$3 billion.
This R80 aircraft, as schedule, will commence operation by 2016.
