Public Works Minister Sued by Victim of Poor Quality Road

JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Arik S Wartono, resident of Kembangan Village, Gresik Regency in East Java, has filed lawsuit against public works minister for poor quality of road.
Wartono blamed the ministry for an accident at Wahiddin Street, Gresik on March 29, 2013, that caused serious injury on his younger brother Adi Sucipto.
Wartono filed the lawsuit to Gresik District Court. Other defendants in the lawsuit are East Java governor and Gresik Regent. These officers, according to Wartono, are deemed responsible under Road Transportation Law to fix the damaged roads for the safety of public at large.
The case is now in the mediation process in Gresik Court, where Wartono seeks Rp10 billion of loss compensation.
