JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has not yet responded the decision from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) that naming Pol. Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, the sole candidate of the National Police Chief, as a graft suspect.
Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said President Jokowi will announce his decision over Budi Gunawan’s nomination this morning.
Andi, however, said he has not yet known whether the President will either postpone Budi Gunawan’s nomination or nominate new name of Police Chief.
Budi Gunawan himself is currently undergoing a fit and proper test of Police Chief candidate conducted by The House of Representative (DPR) Commission III.
A scheduled meeting between KPK leaders and President Jokowi on Tuesday night to discuss Budi Gunawan has been canceled without explanation. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
