JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has officially launched the government’s signature welfare programs through the so-called Prosperous Family Card (KKS), the Indonesia Health Card (KIS), and the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP).
The President introduced the three cards to the people and media in a modest ceremony held at the Pasar Baru Post Office in Central Jakarta, Monday (Nov. 3) noon.
Also attending the launching ceremony were First Lady Iriana, Coordinating Minister for Human Development & Culture Puan Maharani, Minister of Health Nila Djuwita Moeloek, Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Minister of Religious Afairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Rini Mariani Soemarno.
The launching was also held at four other post offices in Jakarta i.e Kebon Bawang, Pemuda, Mampang, and Fatmawati post offices.
According to the press release from the National Team for for Accelerating Poverty Alleviation (TNP2K), for the first stage, the KKS cards will be distributed to one million families.
While the KIP cards will be distributed to 160,000 students and the KIS cards will be distributed to 4.5 million residents in 19 regencies/municipalities in 9 provinces in the country. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
