JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has attended a state funeral for Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew on Sunday (Mar. 29).
President Jokowi was accompanied by, among others, the First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo. The state funeral itself took place at the University Cultural Centre,in the National University of Singapore (NUS).
As reported earlier, Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew has passed away on Mar. 23, 2015, at the age of 91.
Mr. Lee Kuan Yew led Singapore for 31 years. He is widely respected as the architect of Singapore’s prosperity.
And even after he stepped down in 1990, Mr. Lee remained have huge influence in politics in his country as well as the region. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
