JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – President elect and vice president elect Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK) sets 7% national economic target for 2014-2019 period.
Akbar Faizal, one deputy of Jokowi-JK’s transition team, as quoted by Antara news agency, said the investment on infrastructure should reach Rp6,500 trillion, to support the 7% economic growth per year.
He added the investment in infrastructure could be funded by state budget (25%) and other parties including state-owned companies and private sector (75%).
For past 5 years, Indonesia’s economy grew by 5% with investment in infrastructure only growing by 4-5% of the gross domestic product (GDP), lower compared to India (7%) and China (9-11%).
