JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Hendri Satrio, a political communication expert from Paramadina University, views that the pairing of Prabowo Subianto and Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie as a deal of the coalition between Gerindra Party and Golkar Party would bring the country back to President Soeharto’s New Order regime, Kompas.com reported.
Talked to Kompas on Wednesday (May 7), however, Hendri said that somehow the duet will probably attract people who support the country back to the New Order.
Hendri revealed that the so-called Neo-New Order Prabowo-Ical duet will be the antithesis of Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, a president candidate from PDI-P, and his running mate.
Prabowo is now patron chief of Gerindra Party, a political party he established after resigning from Golkar. Ical, meanwhile, is current Chairman of Golkar. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
