JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The dynamics within Golkar Party are heating up by political battle between the key leaders eager to run for the July’s Presidential Election.
Earlier this morning (March 12) as quoted by the state-run news agency Antara, Akbar Tandjung, senior politican and Chairman of Golkar Party’s Advisory Board, publicly expressed his readiness to run as a running mate of presidential candidate from another nationalist parties that share similar platform with Golkar.
Akbar said that PDI-P party also shares similar platform with Golkar. He also noted about his good relationship with PDI-P patron leader Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Other Golkar key leaders have revisited the movement to cancel the presidential nomination of Golkar Chairman Aburizal “Ical Bakrie.
Golkar executive Yorrys Raweyai said Tuesday (March 11) that Ical’s presidential nomination could be canceled. He suggested his party to hold the Special National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnasus) after the April’s Legislative Election, to evaluate Ical’s nomination.
Yorrys also promoted the possibility for Golkar to form a coalition with PDI-P in order to endorse Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Jusuf Kalla pair in the July’s presidential race.
Ical’s supporters, including Golkar Secretary General Idrus Marham, revealed that Ical’s nomination is final. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
